Police Reports for Wednesday

• At 8:32 p.m. Tuesday, Sault Police were dispatched to the 800-block of Swinton St. for a Domestic Violence complaint. According to the complainant, her 17 year old son was “out of control and combative;” she explained to officers that he does have a socio-behavioral disorder that she believes contributed to the incident. The mother told officers that he threw his 19 month old niece to the floor, as well as a computer and remote. The man was arrested for Domestic Assault and lodged in the Chippewa County Jail. The report did not indicate the severity of the toddler’s injuries.

• At 5:40 p.m. Tuesday, officers were called to Wal*Mart where a young Sault woman was detained after she tried to leave the store with $266. 99 worth of unpaid merchandise. According to the report, Loss Prevention Personnel observed the woman removing several bottles of perfume from their boxes and discarded the security devices. Store employees continued to follow the woman as she selected additional merchandise throughout the store and place these items in her purse as well. The woman attempted to exit the store after paying for the items in her cart. Store security confronted the woman and detained her until officers arrived, and she was advised to call someone to take custody of her young son. She was arrested for Retail Fraud and released with an appearance ticket after she posted bail.

• At 3:40 p.m. Monday, officers were called to the 1700-block of Meridian St. where a Sault woman told officers $60 had been taken from her unlocked apartment. The woman told officers that she believes the money was stolen sometime during the previous night, and this is the second time the crime has occurred. There are no suspects at this time, but the case remains open.

• At 10 a.m. Monday, Sault Police visited a residence in the 1800-block of E. 18th Ave. to serve a Sault woman with a misdemeanor Stalking warrant. The woman was arrested and transported to the 91st District Court for arraignment.
