On April 17, 2020, during its regularly scheduled meeting, the Chippewa County Board of Commissioners voted to waive the annual food licensing fees for fixed food facilities, special transitory food units (STFUs), and temporary food service events for the food licensing year running from May 1, 2020, to April 30, 2021. Those food facilities that have already paid for their food license renewal will receive a refund in the mail.
The County recognizes the hardship placed on food service facilities during this unprecedented time. By temporarily eliminating food licensing fees, facilities will have one less worry until they are able to reopen or return to full capacity.
