Alexander Henry Hoover, of Mackinac Island, Michigan, died unexpectedly Friday morning July 10 at his apartment. He was born December 21, 1998 in Ann Arbor, Michigan to Anthony and Jennifer (Northrup) Hoover.
Alex attended Salem High School in Canton, Michigan. After graduating, Alex moved to Mackinac Island where he worked for Ryba’s Fudge Shop one summer before becoming a maintenance employee of the Grand Hotel, where he worked for the last two years. He was also in charge of Grand Hotel security last spring when the head of security was in the hospital.
Alex played both hockey and soccer while growing up. He was very active in FIRST Robotics in high school. He also mentored the FIRST Robotics team on Mackinac Island.
Alex is survived by his parents, Anthony and Jennifer Hoover, of Plymouth, Michigan; his three sisters, Amelia Hoover, of Mackinac Island, Anna Hoover of Plymouth, and Addison Hoover of Plymouth. He will be missed by many friends on
Mackinac Island.
Cremation has taken place. Dodson Funeral Cremation Burial Services assisted the family with arrangements
