On Wednesday, July 29, at about noon, a trooper from the Michigan State Police (MSP) Sault Ste Marie Post conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle on Seymour St near 4th Avenue in Sault Ste Marie. Following an on-scene investigation, a 25-year-old St. Ignace man was arrested for possession of an analogue and a 25-year-old St. Ignace woman was arrested for possession of methamphetamine. Bothsubjects were lodged in the Chippewa County Jail.
Later on July 29, 2020 at approximately 11:48 p.m., troopers conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle for a traffic violation on M-28 Highway near Bound Road. The driver, identified as a 33-year-old Drummond Island woman, was found to be in possession of Psilocybin Mushrooms. Further evidence was discovered that the driver intended to distribute the substance. The driver was lodged in the Chippewa County Jail.
