Sunday night, Sept 6, at about 11pm the Chippewa County Sheriff deputies observed a north bound vehicle run a stop sign in Rudyard at a high rate of speed. Deputies gave chase on Mackinac Trail with speeds reaching 100 mph and the driver running through two additional stop signs on a wet, rainy night.
The suspect vehicle finally stopped some 20 miles later in Sault Ste Marie. After failing several field sobriety tests, Robert Carl Green from Ashville, Alabama, was arrested for Operating Under the Influence of Drugs, Fleeing and Eluding Police, and Reckless Driving.
Sault Ste Marie Police and US Border Agent assisted in the arrest
