SAULT STE MARIE, MI — On September 16, 2020 troopers from the Michigan State Police (MSP) Sault Ste. Marie Post received a request to assist the South Dakota Criminal Investigation Division with an investigation.
The troopers contacted the suspect, 25-year-old Waylon Staricha formerly from Volga, South Dakota. Staricha had recently moved to the Rudyard area. As a result of the troopers’ investigation, Waylon Staricha was arrested for possession of child sexually abusive material and was lodged in the Chippewa County Jail. Staricha was arraigned in the 91st District Court on 9/17/2020 and released with a tether and a personal recognizance bond.
Staricha is due back in court on October 1st, 2020. Staricha is presumed to be innocent unless proven guilty.
