Connie Sue McLeod, age 71, of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan passed away Monday evening, October 19, 2020, at the Hospice of the EUP – Hospice House.
Connie was born on March 22, 1949, in Flint, Michigan to the late Cleo and Isabelle (Mahaney) Hamacher. Connie was the front end manager at Glen’s Market for many years. She enjoyed fast pitch softball, bowling, and competing in demolition derbies. She also enjoyed playing cribbage and euchre with friends, board games, and puzzles. She enjoyed sewing for her kids and grandchildren. Connie always made time to be present for her grandchildren and great grandchildren and attend their events
Connie is survived by her children: Maxine “Maxx” (Stephen) Anderson, Ross (Sonja) McLeod, and Wendi Greene all of Sault Ste. Marie, MI: ten grandchildren: Zach, Chad, Elly (Loren), Joey (Amanda), Hunter (Stephanie), Matthew (Cheyenne), Lacey, Timmy, Riane, and Rilee; and five great-grandchildren: Swayze, Dane, Gavin, Lore’n, and Brooklyn. Connie is also survived by her brother: Ronald Hamacher of Clio, MI.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents, two siblings: Richard “Rick” Hamacher and Victoria “Vicki” Chadwell; and the father of her children: John McLeod.
A celebration of Connie’s life will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, October 24, 2020, at C.S. Mulder Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to Hospice of the EUP or the Chippewa County Animal Shelter.
