Trident strikes again: Arrests to lower Michigan men of multiple felony charges

Detectives from Trident were investigating a Prescription Fraud complaint in Sault Ste Marie.

Detectives found that someone had called in a prescription pretending to be a Dr. from lower Michigan. During the investigation it was found that someone was on their way to the Pharmacy to pickup this prescription.

Detectives were conducting surveillance at the pharmacy when two men arrived. One male went inside and attempted to pickup the fraudulent prescription and that is when the Detectives arrested the man.

A second man found in the vehicle and identified.

A search of the vehicle resulted in the recovery of a Stolen handgun and additional prescriptions thought to also be fraudulently obtained from another location.

5- Possession of ammunition by a Felon
6- Carrying a Concealed Weapon- Firearm
7- Receiving and Concealing stolen property- Firearm
8- Possession of Controlled substance
9- Conspiracy to commit controlled substance- Obtain by Fraud
10- McKay is a Habitual OffenderDeiontreay

Darell Craft – 23 yr old Grand Rapids man
1- Attempted Controlled Substance- Obtain by Fraud
2- Conspiracy to Commit Controlled Substance- by Fraud
3- Controlled Substance- Obtain by false prescription
4- Conspiracy to commit controlled substance- by false prescription
5- Possession of a controlled substance
6- Felon in possession of a Firearm
7- Felon in possession of ammunition
8- Receiving and Concealing stolen property- Firearm
9- Carrying a Concealed Weapon- Firearm
10- Craft is a Habitual Offender

Mr. McKay and Mr. Craft were arraigned in 91st Dist Court on 10-1-2020 and both were given a $100,000 Bond with Tether.Both are innocent until proven guilty.

This complaint is still under investigation.
