SAULT STE MARIE, ON (SooToday.com) – One person is dead and another is in custody following a stabbing in the city’s east end, Sault Ste. Marie Police report.
Police say at 4:33 p.m. today, officers responded to a call of an altercation in the 0-100 block of Muriel Drive.
Upon arrival, police say officers located a victim who had been stabbed. The victim was taken to hospital and later died as a result of their injuries.
An accused has been taken into custody. Police are reporting the accused and the victim were known to each other.
A news release issued tonight states there is no threat to public safety, however, community members are urged to avoid the area so officers can conduct their investigation.
