Beloved husband and partner, faithful friend to many, Lanny Ross Hissong, age 61, of Brimley, Michigan passed away Thursday morning, February 4, 2020, at his home.
Lanny was born on November 22, 1959, in Hicksville, Ohio to the late Richard and Betty (Knapp) Hissong. He graduated from Woodburn High School with the class of 1978. On May 24, 2010, he married Brendann Hascall in Woodburn, Indiana. He was a lifetime member of the Sons of American Legion. Lanny worked as a skilled welder for many years, and could handle any job no matter how complicated. Lanny also found satisfaction in crane operation. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, liked fundraising for others and he was great at offering a listening ear when others needed it most. Lanny was very confident, loved music, and his silly jokes.
Lanny is survived by his wife: Brendann Hissong; two children: Nick Hissong and Tonya Starr Hissong both of Harland, IN; his step-children: Craig James Hill of Brimley, MI and Brandann (Chi) Hill-Mann of Makakilo, Hawai’i; two grandchildren: Autumn and Adreana; and three step-grandchildren: Deacon, Aleczander, and Jada. Lanny is also survived by his siblings: Debra Hissong of Woodburn, IN, Rick (Pam) Hissong of Woodburn, IN, Tina (Lenn) Schafer of Auburn, IN, as well the mother of his children and close friend Penny Hissong of Harland, IN. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, whom he cherished.
A celebration of life will be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to C.S. Mulder Funeral Home and Cremation Services to help with expenses.
