The Pickford Panthers girls’ basketball team stayed atop the Eastern Upper Peninsula Conference standings, as they defeated the Cedarville Trojans, 52-44, on Monday night at the Purple Palace. Pickford (7-2) is at St. Ignace on Tuesday night. Cedarville (5-2) is at DeTour on Tuesday night.
The St. Ignace girls’ basketball team improved to 7-3 on the season, as they crushed Manistique, 68-28, at the Iggy Zone on Monday night. The Saints will be home once again on Tuesday night, as they host Pickford.
Other girls’ basketball games on Tuesday night sees Rudyard at Brimley and Newberry traveling to Engadine.
In boys’ basketball from Monday night the St. Ignace Saints saw their four game losing streak snapped at the Iggy Zone, as Manistique earned a 66-62 road win. St. Ignace (6-3) are home to Pickford on Tuesday night.
Boys’ basketball on Tuesday night sees Brimley travel to Rudyard, in EUP Conference play. You can hear that game on Country 105 in the “EUP Game of the Week”, with Scott Nason and Ray Bell, starting with the pregame show around 7:00 p.m.
