The Sault High Blue Devil girls’ basketball team keeps on rolling, as they improved to 9-0 on Friday night, winning at Alpena, 66-22. The Blue Devils will be home to Traverse City Central on Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
In other girls’ basketball from Friday night, Pickford moved a top the Eastern Upper Peninsula Conference standings, as they won at Engadine, 55-45. Pickford (6-2) will be home to Cedarville on Monday, while Engadine (4-6) is home to Newberry on Tuesday. Newberry topped Brimley, 36-35 in EUP Conference play. Newberry (4-6) is at Engadine on Tuesday. Brimley (1-5) hosts Rudyard on Tuesday.
The Sault High Blue Devil boys’ basketball team, playing their third game in three days, dropped a 66-22 decision to Escanaba. Sault High (2-8) will be home to Cedarville on Wednesday. You can hear that game on 1230 WSOO, with Dave Watson and Ray Bell, starting with the pregame show around 7:00 p.m. Pickford ended a four game slide, as they traveled to Engadine on Friday and defeated the Eagles, 61-28. Pickford (2-6) is at St. Ignace on Tuesday. Engadine (2-6) is home to Munising on Monday.
The Sault High Blue Devil hockey team improved to 3-4 on the season on Friday night, as they defeated Petoskey 2-1, at Big Bear Arena.
