The Sault High Blue Devil girls’ basketball team saw their 27 game winning streak come to an end Monday night at Marquette, as they fell to the Redettes in overtime, 56-49. Sault High (11-1) will be at Newberry on Thursday.
In other girls’ basketball from Monday night, Cedarville stayed in contention for the Eastern Upper Peninsula Conference title, as they topped DeTour, 65-25. Cedarville (8-2) is home to Engadine on Wednesday. DeTour (0-9) is home to Harbor Light Christian on Friday. St. Ignace won their sixth game in a row, as they routed Rudyard, 73-24. St. Ignace (10-3) is at Cheboygan on Tuesday night. Rudyard (8-4) is at Pickford on Tuesday. You can hear that game on the EUP Game of the Week, on Country 105 with Scott Nason, starting with the pregame show around 7:00 p.m. With a win tonight, Rudyard would clinch the EUP Conference title.

In boys’ basketball from Monday night, EJ Suggitt scored 30 points leading Rudyard over St. Ignace, 91-58. Rudyard (11-2) will be at Cheboygan on Thursday. With a win, the Bulldogs will clinch first place in the Straits Area Conference, to go along with their EUP Conference title. St. Ignace (7-5) is at Cheboygan on Tuesday. DeTour topped Cedarville on the road, 63-45. DeTour (4-6) is at Brimley on Tuesday night. Cedarville (6-5) is at Engadine on Wednesday.

The Sault High Blue Devil hockey team will start their regionals tonight as the take on Tawas at 7:00 p.m. If the Blue Devils win they will face Alpena on Thursday at Tawas. You can hear that game on 1230 WSOO with Dave Watson, starting with the pregame show at 4:45 p.m.
