Dalene L. Baker, 64, of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, passed away Tuesday, June 22nd, 2021. Dalene was born on November 14, 1956 in Norton, Kansas to the late Dale and Ellen Baker.
She graduated from Sault Area High School with the class of 1974. She obtained her associate’s degree in nursing in 1987 and her bachelor’s degree in nursing in 1990. She was a registered nurse specializing in emergency room care at War Memorial Hospital in Sault Ste. Marie and later at Mackinac Straits Hospital in St. Ignace until her retirement.
Dalene married Robert ‘Skip’ Palmer on September 17, 1987 and they were married for 7 years until his death.
Dalene had a passion for any and all animals and was dedicated to fighting for animal rights.
Dalene is survived by her sister, Janice (Rex) Hewett of Henry, Illinois and her niece, Christina Lee of Terre Haute, Indiana, as well as some extended family. She is also survived by special friends Pat Lawless and Ken Noble.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Skip, and many beloved pets.
Per her wishes, no services will be held. Memorials in memory of Dalene may be made to your favorite animal rescue.
