n 2020 Kinross PD investigated a CSC complaint involving a victim, child 13-17 year old. During the time of the investigation the suspect fled the area. The investigation resulted in a warrant for multiple Felony charges.
Later in 2021 the Chippewa Co Sheriff’s Office investigated another incident involving another victim. This investigation involved a child who was under 13 years old at the time. The investigation resulted in another Felony warrant for the suspect.
It was around this time the CCSO received information that the suspect in both cases was living in Colorado under a false name and had changed his appearance.
The suspect, Eric John Chambers, was located and arrested on the outstanding warrants. The Chippewa Co Sheriff’s Office then drove to Colorado and picked up Mr. Chambers and brought him back to Michigan to face the charges.
Eric John Chambers, age 34 from Kincheloe, was arrested by the Chippewa County Sheriff Department on the following charges:
1- CSC 1st Degree, Child under 13 years old
2- CSC 1st Degree, Child under 13 years old
3- CSC 1st Degree, Child under 13 years old
4- CSC 1st Degree, Child under 13 years old
5- CSC 1st Degree, Child under 13 years old
6- CSC 1st Degree, Child under 13 years old
In addition, Kinross Township Police arrested Chambers on the following charges:
1- CSC 1st Degree Child 13-17 years old
2- CSC 2nd Degree Child 13-17 years old
3- Child Distribute, Obscene material
On 6-11-2021, Mr. Chambers was arraigned in the 91st District Court. Chambers was given a $1,000,000 Bond with multiple restrictions. Chambers is innocent until proven guilty.
