Myrtle “Tony” B. Dekett Hiller, age 95, of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, passed away on June 29, 2021, at War Memorial Hospital following a short illness. She was born in Alpena, Michigan, on November 6, 1925.
Tony was proceeded in death by her parents, Vera Bell (Rice) and Guy Henry Dekett; twin brother, Mervil; brothers, Rowland, Frank, Fred, L.D. (Al), Bill, and Burton Dekett; and one sister, Bertina Blair.
She is survived by sisters, Genevieve “Jenny” Hochhalter of Sandy, Utah and Eva Anderson of Salem, Oregon, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She will be remembered for her musical ability, performing with her Autoharp, Guitar and Harmonica. In her younger years, she was an outstanding swimmer and ice skater. Tony worked with the Salvation Army U.S.O. during WWII. She also worked as a nurse at many care facilities and loved taking care of people. She will be missed by family and everyone who knew her.
