Larry Lee “Wolf” Wolfgang, age 81, of Sault Ste. Marie, MI passed away October 16, 2021, at War Memorial Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.
Larry was born on April 13, 1940, in Montcalm County, MI to the late Clarence and Georgia (Fuller) Wolfgang. He loved to go to the races especially at Merritt Speedway, his weekend trips to Home Depot, where he was like a kid in a candy store, and his nightly trips to Clydes, in the summer, where he and Ding would sit and watch the ships. His biggest hobby of all was his business, Wolf Interiors, where he continued to work until 4 weeks ago.
Larry is survived by his wife: Deloras “Ding” (Trombley) Wolfgang whom he married on July 2, 1988, in Sault Ste. Marie, MI; children: Jeanne (Brad) Peet of Ithaca, MI, Laura (Steve) Wood of Minnetrista, MN, Larry Wolfgang, Jr. of Petoskey, MI, James Wolfgang of Petoskey, MI, Donna Winget of St. Mary’s, OH, and Blaine Wolfgang of Alanson, MI; stepchildren: Vicki Bumstead of Lewiston, MI Mark (Dorothy) Bumstead of Sault Ste. Marie, MI and Steven (Dawn) Bumstead of Sault Ste. Marie, MI; 29 grandchildren and 20 great- grandchildren. Larry is also survived by his siblings: Glinda Pumford, and Linda Ryckman; and a step-son-in-law: Randy Avery.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, stepdaughter: Deborah Avery; siblings: Joyce Harshman, Donald Wolfgang, Richard Wolfgang, and Alan Wolfgang; and a great-grandson: Dominik Dunbar.
Cremation has already taken place per Larry’s wishes. No public services will be held.
