Veda (Skinner) Sodegren, age 99 passed away on Friday, October 29th 2021 at War Memorial Hospital in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. Veda was born August 30, 1922 in Pickford, Michigan to the late Harry and Ethel (Rapson) Skinner. She graduated from Pickford High School in 1940.
She is survived by her brother William Skinner and sister-in-law Janet Skinner, children James (Susan) Ordiway and Suzie (Calvin) Veldt, grandchildren, Patty (Steve) Ewing, Kathy (Jeff) Alexander, Thomas (Kara) Batho, Steven (April) Batho, Kevin (Julie) Batho, and Kami (Eric McKerchie) Batho. Great grand-chldren, Zachary (Abby) Ewing, Taylor
Ewing, Nathan Alexander, Jayne (Kody) Norwood, Steven, Jacob, & Brett Batho, Eric (Natalie) McKerchie, Tyler McKerchie, Cody Batho, Anthony, Cameron, Kile and Logan Batho. Her three great-great-grandchildren, Mallory, Morgan, Kade, and one on the way. She is also survived by her brother, William Skinner and sister-in-law Janet Skinner,
along with numerous nieces and nephews to whom she will always fondly be remembered as Aunt Bea.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ethel & Harry Skinner, her husband Harvey Sodergren, son Thomas Ordiway, granddaughter Elizabeth Ann Ordiway, brothers Verne Skinner and Junior Sims, and sister-in-law Dorothy Skinner.
A funeral will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, November 2, 2021, at C.S. Mulder Funeral Home. Friends may call at the funeral home that day from 11:00 AM until the time of the service. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to Hospice of the EUP.
