Vincent Jay Robinson

Vincent Jay Robinson, age 64, of Drummond Island, Michigan, died on October 26, 2021, at Henry Ford Hospital. He was born on March 6, 1957, in Port Huron, Michigan to William Charles and Freida May (LaPointe) Robinson.

At the age of two, Vince and the family moved to Drummond Island where he grew up and graduated from DeTour Area High School. He began working as a driver for Ireco, driving slurry from Minnesota to Drummond Island for Drummond Dolomite. After a few years, he started working for the family masonry company, Robinson Masonry. He continued working until he took over the business in 2009. He met Nicole Elizabeth Mills in 2008 at the Drummond Island Moose Lodge. They married on September 9, 2017, at their home on Drummond Island. Vince semi-retired in 2020, only taking on small jobs since.

Vince was a member of the Drummond Island Moose Lodge.

Vince enjoyed watching Nascar, football, baseball and “tinkering” in the garage. He loved spending time with his family and taking them fishing. His true best friend was his dog: Bo-Diddly.

Vince is survived by his wife, Nicole Robinson; daughters, Michelle (Patrick) Henry of Portland, Michigan, Marie Luchenbill of Grawn, Michigan, and Bethany Robinson-Walters of Anchorage, Alaska; son, Matthew (Michele) Robinson of Drummond Island; grandchildren, Tyler, Hailey, Nick, Jada, Jake, Lochlan, Haidyn, Tim, Ryen, Beau, and Brooklynn; sister, Bonnie (John) Tucker of Drummond Island; brother Martin (Shaney) Robinson of Grand Rapids, Michigan; sisters-in-law, Natalie (Eric) Howden of Hamilton, Michigan, Victoria (Ryan) Rose of Drummond Island, and Shawnee (Dillion) Currie of Drummond Island.

Vince was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Jay Robinson.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2021, at 11 AM at the Brooder House – Drummond Island Resort. Pastor Scott Danforth officiating.

A private family internment will be at Drummond Island Cemetery at a later date.
