Charles S. Link Jr., 88, passed away, surrounded by family, at the home of his daughter in Bay Mills Township on October 31, 2021.
Charles was born on June 6, 1933, in Reading, PA to the late Charles and Olivia (Fisher) Link, Sr. He graduated from Brimley High School. Charles served his country in the United States Army and later in the United States Air Force, retiring as a Tech Sergeant on June 30, 1971. He enjoyed his dogs, Fritz and Roscoe, and loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Link, Jr., is survived by his nine children: Diane (Fred) Kelly of Detroit, MI; Patty (Daryl) Hopper of Hulbert, MI; Mike (Janet) Link of Detroit, MI; Debbie (Lee) Freedman of Brimley, MI; Yvette (Keith) Houser of Seattle, WA; Beverly (David) of Pewaukee, WI; Kristine (Trent) Lawson of Brimley, MI; Marlene (Jason) Shirley of Seattle, WA; Charlie (Shelly) Link, III of Sultan, WA. He is further survived by 32 grandchildren: Janette (Corey) Mantz; Brian (Katelyn) Kelly; Fred (Harmony) Kelly, Jr.; David (Megan) Kelly; Dustin (Holly) Hopper; Jason (Laura) Hopper; Ben (Bridget) Hopper; Caleb (Heidi) Hopper; P.J. (Jesse) Jezek; Telisa (Cory) Sikora; Luke Blum and Kris (Carol) Rupreight; Brandon and Ashley Freedman; Stephanie (Chase) Teeple; Ryan (Sarah) Freedman; Max (Tina) Houser; Chase, Austin, Jackson, and Cecily Houser; Joshua, Nikolas, and Lukas Rehfeld; Marissa (Isaac) Kaweesa; Justin Lawson; Roman (Hope) Shirley; Alexis and Zoey Shirley; Judah (Madelyn) Shirley; Charles Link IV and Wyatt Taylor. He is further survived by 47 great grandchildren: Brayden and Isabella Mantz, Darion Neyland, Peleke, Freddy, III, Kiane, Samual, Aine, Tytus, Trinity,Trayce, and Toryn Kelly, Haley and Riley Rupreight, Lyle, Jack, McKenna, Bristyn, Colin, Kayleigh, Kiara, Hayden, Hunter, Hadley, Haywood Hopper, Jessie and Jagger Jezek, Ruger, Daisy, Grendel and Arwen Sikora, Acadia, Piper, Lexxi and Sadie Teeple, Luke, Xavier, Ezekiel, Levi James, and Zechariah Freedman, Grayson and Beckham Houser, Makeda, Mandisa and Benaiah Kaweesa, Hudson and Wells Shirley. He is further survived by 2 great great grandchildren: Alex and Aurora Neyland.
Charlie is also survived by two siblings: Larry (Susie) Link and Mary Ann Brunner.
Charlie was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary, of 59 years; his parents; a grandchild, Sky Marie Link; and a great grandchild, Kerrigan Hopper.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 8, 2021, at C.S. Mulder Funeral Home with Pastor Brooks Sayer officiating. (Visitation for friends and family will be from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.) Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery immediately following service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left in memory of Charlie to the Sault Wesleyan Church – Uganda Missions.
