Dolores Ann Ewing, 90, of Sault Sainte Marie returned home to the Lord on October 30, 2021. Dolores was born March 8, 1931, to Philip and Clara Willette in Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan. She graduated from Loretto High School in 1949.
Dolores married the love of her life, Keith Ewing on June 18, 1955, and together they raised three children. Dolores was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where her voice accompanied the choir and her fingers danced across the organ. She enjoyed card games, knitting and her Saturday evenings with a glass of wine and Lawrence Welk on the TV.
Dolores was a kind and loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. She was greeted into eternal life by her family who have passed on before her- husband, Keith Ewing, son Robert Ewing, parents, brother Jack (Joy) Willette and sisters Margaret (Gerald) Patton and Donna Eckroad.
Her sweet smile, warm embraces and spunky spirit will be missed by her family and friends. Her light now shines down on those she leaves behind including her children, Steven (Patty) Ewing and Lisa Sawruk of Sault Sainte Marie, MI. Her grandchildren, Samantha (David) Capriccioso, Robert Sawruk, Zachary (Abby) Ewing and Taylor Ewing. Dolores will also be missed by her great grandchildren, Olesia, Audrey, Callie, and Benjamin Keith. She also leaves behind brother-in-law, Richard Eckroad, many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Dolores’ final wishes stated, “Love one another as I have loved each of you.” We are certain she will be checking up on that between her pizza and martini parties in Heaven.
A Catholic mass and burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Saturday, November 6, 2021. Visitation will begin at 10am, with services immediately following at 11am. A luncheon will be held at O’Callahan Hall after mass. Burial will be at Oaklawn Chapel Gardens.
Donations may be made to Hospice of EUP in lieu of flowers.
