Norma Joan Goetz, age 80, of DeTour, Michigan, died October 28, 2021, in Sault Ste. Marie. She was born August 30, 1941, in Livonia, Michigan, to Louis and Jeannette (Esslin) Westfall.
Norma and her husband, Phillip ran their own lumberyard business in DeTour Village. She later worked for Lapoint Lumber for many years. They retired and moved to Raber Township Michigan for 20 years. They purchased a home in Truth or Consequences New Mexico that they remodeled themselves. For 20 years, they summered in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and wintered in New Mexico. Finally selling their home and staying in DeTour Village permanently.
Norma is survived by her husband, Phillip Goetz; children, Joanne Stefanski of Raber Township, Cletus Goetz of DeTour Township Michigan; grandchildren, Megan Stefanski, Ashley Nettelton, Adam (Jess) Stefanski, Clay Goetz, Lori Goetz, Brad Goetz, Korin Goetz, Kyle Goetz, and Lauren Goetz; great-grandchildren, Hannah Nettleton, Noah Nettleton, Bella Michalski, Tyler Sayles, Drew Stefanski, and Anna Stefanski; and daughter-in-law, Patte Goetz of Raber Township.
Norma was preceded in death by her son, Russell Goetz; son-in-law, Donald Stefanski, sister Nancy Short, and brother, Louis Westfall
Her final resting place is Oaklawn Chapel Gardens in Bruce Township, Michigan.
A memorial lunch will be held on November 13th, 2021, at the Raber Area Sportsman’s Club on Mike’s Landing Rd in Raber Township from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
