Andrew Ira Newcomb, age 72, died December 22, 2021 in Port Huron, Michigan. He was born January 14th, 1949 in Sault Ste. Marie to Ira and Martha (Schellin) Newcomb.
Andy grew up in Sault Ste. Marie and graduated from Sault High School in 1969. The August following graduation he married the lovely Mary Ann Clement. They started a family and had two sons.
Andy joined Pipefitters Union #111 in 1973 and went to work for the Salvation Army in South Field, Michigan, where he eventually retired as the maintenance director. Andy then moved to Croswell, Michigan where he fulfilled his lifelong dream of becoming a farmer.
Andy enjoyed riding Harley’s, hunting, fishing, and farming. He also liked spending time building model boats.
Andy is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Newcomb; sons Dean Andrew (Erica Hillary) Newcomb of Suffolk, VA, and Dwayne Anthony (Cindy Marie) Newcomb of Hazel Park, MI; grandchildren Timothy Andrew Newcomb, Brooke Lynn Mohammed, Kenny Anthony Plotzke, Alexandra Lynn Vivian, Christene Marie Vick, and Shaun Kasperbauer; great-grandchildren Jack Kenneth Vick and Cayde Ryan Mohammed; and siblings Bob Newcomb of Cadillac, MI, Barb Huyck of Pickford, MI, Don Newcomb of Norway, MI, Joe Newcomb of Dafter, MI, Francis Miller of Dafter, MI, and Mark Newcomb of Newalla, OK.
Andy was preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Martha; and his siblings Frieda Meteggter, Fred Newcomb, Leonard Newcomb, Mary Newcomb, and Michael Newcomb.
Services for Andy will be held Tuesday, December 28th at Galer Funeral Homes & Cremation in Pickford, MI. Visitation will be from 6 -7 PM. The Funeral Service will begin at 7 PM.
