Cheryl June Lanning, age 87, of Drummond Island, MI passed away on January 12, 2022, at Medilodge of Sault Ste. Marie.
Cheryl was born on October 2, 1934, in Bloomdale, OH, to the late Ralph and Reva (Ritchie) Purkey. After high school she graduated from Emporia State College with the class of 1957.
Cheryl became an accomplished English teacher, writer, author, and publisher. She enjoyed life to the fullest and was dedicated to family and friends.
Cheryl is survived by her children: Teri D. Frantz of Drummond Island, MI, Michael Denning of Drummond Island, MI, and Christopher Denning of Erie, CO. Cheryl was also survived by her four grandchildren: Corrine, Matt, Ryan, and Joey.
According to Cheryl wishes, no public service will be held.
