David Patrick McCammond, age 73, of Sault Ste Marie, Michigan passed away January 4, 2022 at War Memorial Hospital. He was born in Oshawa, Ontario on February 16, 1948 to George and Annie McCammond. He married Carol Finner on October 6, 1990.
David was a truck driver for over forty years, driving millions of miles throughout the United States and Ontario, Canada.
David loved to watch his son Rick play and in later years coach hockey. In recent years he enjoyed watching his grandson Evan play hockey and was looking forward to watching the future hockey career of his grandson Hendrix. He was also an avid NASCAR fan.
David is survived by his wife, Carol (Finner) McCammond; his children, Tammy (Richard) Hall of Appleton, Wisconsin, and Rick (Bobbi) Mackie of Sault Ste Marie, Michigan fur babies Miley and Abby, five grandchildren, Shanelle Atkins, Yazmyn Atkins, Paris Hall, Evan Kennedy and Hendrix Mackie, his little buddy. He is also survived by brother-in-law Larry Finner and sisters-in-law Shirley Wright and Connie (Ted) Eby, and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Frank McCammond and Jim McCammond; father-in-law, Harold (Speed) Finner; mother-in-law, Helen Finner; and his sister-in-law, Valerie Finner.
Per David’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held later in the year.
