Barbara “Barb” Jean (Krolikowski) Snider, age 74, of Drummond Island, Michigan, died on January 23, 2022, at Harborview Assisted Living in DeTour Village, Michigan. Barb was born November 9, 1947, in Wyandotte, Michigan to Henry and Sylvia (Swiderski) Krolikowski.
For 10 years, Barb grew up in Wyandotte, Michigan before moving with her family to Trenton, Michigan where she later graduated from Trenton High School. After completing two years of college, she married Thomas “Tom” Snider at St. Timothy’s Church in Trenton, Michigan on October 17, 1969. Together they lived in Texas, Ohio, and Michigan before settling down in Brighton. Following her passion for travel, Barb along with partner Ellen Worthy opened “It’s Worthy Travel” in Brighton. Barb led many large groups overseas to play golf and ski in places such as Austria, Scotland, and Ireland. Barb later went solo creating “Barb Snider’s Travel Specialists” until 1998 when Barb and Tom moved to Drummond Island full time. There, they purchased the Fogcutter Bar & Grille which they ran for 10 years.
Barb was an avid bowler over the years and loved Ford Club Wagon Vans. Barb was a member of the Drummond Island homemakers where she enjoyed helping with the Hunter’s Dinner with her famous stuffing recipe she stole from Walter Mondale. Along with husband Tom, they would help anybody including cross country pedal bikers, adventurers from abroad, neighbors, or anybody in need. Barb loved cooking and traveling; Barb and Tom spent most of their winters in the Dominican Republic with many friends. Barbs favorite place was the grocery store where she found sanctuary with her local friends and foods. Barb loved her many phone conversations…you know who you are! If you heard, “I got another call coming in,” or “It’s over,” and ending with, “That’s all I got here.”
Barb is survived by her son and daughter in law, Tyler and Tessa (Laaksonen) Snider; daughter and son in law, Shannon and Steven Brakstad; sisters, Mary (Ron) Cosgrove, Pam (Greg) Krolikowski; Brothers and Sisters-in-law, Bill and Sharon Snider and Rick and Gloria Snider; grandchildren, Austin, Owen and Ryan Brakstad; family friends, Mike Heard and Nila Hunt and all her grocery store friends she acquired over the years.
Barb is proceded in death by her husband, Thomas Snider; her parents, Henry and Sylvia Krolikowski and in-laws, Clare and Helen Joan Snider.
