Kari Ann Willis, 49, of Sault Ste. Marie, MI passed away unexpectedly on February 5, 2022 at her home. She was born March 24, 1972 in Sault Ste. Marie, MI to Donald and Marilyn (Spencer) McDonald.
Kari graduated from Sault Area High School and Saint Mary’s School of Cosmetology. She went on to work several years as a beautician at the Side Street Salon and JC Penny’s. Kari then changed careers and went to work for Chippewa County as the Deputy Juvenile Registrar for the 50th Circuit Court.
Kari had 27 years with the love of her life Tony, and they were married for 20 years. Tony and Kari enjoyed camping with their friends and NASCAR races. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends and her morning coffee clutch at the Merch.
Kari is survived by her husband, Tony D. Willis; sons, Taylor McRorie of Traverse City, MI and Dillon Willis of Redding, CA; daughters, Tara Horka, Brittany Frost (Willis) of Redding, CA, and Toni Willis of Sault Ste. Marie, MI; brother, John (Missy) McDonald of Sault Ste. Marie, MI; grandchild, Lillie Horka; and many nieces and nephews.
Kari is predeceased by her father, Donald “Mick” McDonald and in laws, EJ and Beatrice Willis. Visitation will be Friday February 11, 2022 at the Sault Tribe Cultural Center, 11 Ice Circle Sault Ste. Marie, MI 49783, from 10:00am until the time of the Memorial Service at 2:00pm with Father Nicholas Thompson officiating. Final resting place will be Donaldson Cemetery.
