The Luce County Sheriff Department snowmobile patrol along with a local Michigan Department of Natural Resources Conservation Officer were flagged down by a local citizen who was concerned about a local resident living off grid who recently lost their spouse.
They had not been seen in a few days and the main road to the home had been blown shut from the last high wind events.
The DNR officer and Deputy located the home and found the owner was ok, but could not get out due to a tractor not starting. The DNR Conservation Officer and Deputy assisted the home owner in solving the starting problem and left the elated home owner in good spirits and a concerned neighbor happy to hear the news.
2 plow trucks had attempted to reach the homestead but the drifts were too high and they had to turn around.
Thankful for a happy ending
