Sandra Kay Fisher

Sandra Kay Fisher, age 78, of Brimley, MI passed away on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at her home.

Sandy was born on December 3, 1943, in Gary, IN the daughter of the late Everett and Olga (Shuman) Fisher.  She Graduated from River Forest High School in Gary, IN on June 1962, she married George Diakis.  Sandy worked in the women’s department at Wal-Mart for many years.  She was a 4H leader and everyone called her “Ma”.  She enjoyed adult coloring books, riding horses, and being outside in her garden. She especially loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren. 

Sandy is survived by two daughters: Donna Link and Karen Gregg both of Brimley, MI; two sons: Timothy (Christy) Diakis of Iowa and Dion (Lyndsie) Diakis of Indiana; 12 grandchildren: Jacob, Patricia, Shauna, Joseph, Noah, Jarrett, Sondra, Holly, Mason, Gabriel, Jaren, and MacKenzie; many great-grandchildren; and a brother: William (Susan) Fisher of Indiana.

Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two brothers: Everett and Loren Fisher. 

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at Calvary Baptist Church.  Friends may gather at the church starting at 1:00 PM.  Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery later this spring.
