Carl Jay” CJ” Hodges, age 82, of Pickford, Michigan, passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2022, at his home.
Carl was born on February 24, 1940, in Harrison, MI to the late Bruce and Helen (Woodard) Hodges. He was a graduated of Harrison High School and attended Michigan Tech. Carl served his country in the United States Air Force and was stationed in Japan and California.
Carl was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church. He worked for Carl Marsh Trucking retiring in in 2005. Later he drove river piolets for Great Lakes Association. Carl enjoyed anything outdoors: ice fishing, hunting, and gardening (he didn’t but much from the stores). He cut his own firewood right up to the end.
Carl is survived by his wife: Arlene Knowles whom he married on March 12, 2017, in Richfield Church of the Nazarene in Otisville, MI; children: Kathy (Kevin) Parmatier of Sault Ste. Marie, Kerry (Claudia) Hodges of Coon Rapids, MN, and Sharolyn (Eric) Crum of Villa Ridge, MO; his step-children: Ronald Deaver of Mount Morris, Ken (Susette) Williams of Waterville, PA, Carolyn (Pete) Hoffman of Mohnton, PA, Bruce (Tracy) Deaver of Columbia, PA, Wade (Susan) Deaver of Oklahoma City, OK, Cheryl (Myles) Waybrant of Davison, and Diane (Rick) Freeman of Davison; 20 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters: Lorretta (Jim) Deline if Lake Havasu, AZ and Kay Ward of Leader, TX.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon on Thursday, March 17, 2022, at Donaldson Presbyterian Church. Friends may call at the church from 11:00 AM until the time of the service.
