Mackinac Straits Health System Celebrates Affiliation with MyMichigan Health

ST. IGNACE, Mich. – Recently, leaders at MyMichigan Health attended an event at Mackinac Straits Hospital in celebration of the affiliation announcement between the health systems.

Tricia Sommer, director of regional collaborations at MyMichigan Health, Greg Rogers, president and chief executive officer at MyMichigan Health, and Karen Cheeseman, president and chief executive officer at Mackinac Straits Health System, attended the event to hand out MyMichigan Health logo wear items to Mackinac Straits employees.

In October 2021, Mackinac Straits Health System and MyMichigan Health jointly announced a formal affiliation between the two organizations to address technology (IT) and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) needs.

“This celebration was an opportunity to share with our employees just how important this affiliation is to our organization,” said Cheeseman. “Aligning with MyMichigan to implement the EPIC software system assists us in meeting our critical needs and the needs of our patients who are so very important to us. We recognize that while we have many strengths, operating successful health systems in today’s environment requires more than we have available to us as a stand-alone health care organization. This affiliation positions us well for the future.”
