Stephen Joseph Peller, 76, of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2022 with his loving family by his side. Steve was born on August 12, 1945 in Sault Ste. Marie to the late Thomas and Katherine Peller.
Steve was the owner and operator of Peller’s Auto Body for over 40 years. Aside from the countless hours he spent working there, he was involved with the Sault Amateur Hockey Association for years where he formed a special bond with numerous players and their families. Steve also enjoyed building and fixing things. His other hobbies included spending time at his hunting camp and golfing. Although his greatest joy in life was watching his grandchildren grow and attending all of their sporting events and activities whether they were home or away.
Steve leaves behind his loving wife of 50 years Terri (Jones). He was an incredible father to his son Todd (Desi) Peller and daughter Jill (Howie) Peller. He was an amazing grandfather to Brandon Carrick, Kolbe Peller, Logan (Adam) Mullins, and Kanyon Peller. He is survived by mother-in-law Phyllis Jones; sisters Theresa (Fred) Torreano, Marcia (Jim) Peller; brother Tom Peller; sisters-in-law Patti Oshelski, Connie Wallis, Jan (Curtis) Walton, Tami (Jeff) Baldwin; and numerous nieces and nephews. Steve was predeceased by his parents, father-in-law Bob Jones, brother Mike Peller, and brother-in-law Nick Oshelski.
A private mass was held on March 22, 2022 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Mike Chenier officiating. Memorial contributions may be made in Steve’s name to Hospice of the EUP. Clark Hovie Galer Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
