Teenage Defensive Driving is a 5-hour program aimed at the teenager. The curriculum includes 4 hours of hands-on training and 1 hour of online instruction.
The areas covered in class and reinforced during practical exercises are:
- Defensive driving
- Skid control
- Serpentine
- Controlled braking
- Evasive maneuvering
- Confined area maneuvering
- Off road recovery (emergency)
Class size is limited to 16 students to allow a 2-to-1 student/instructor ratio.
Michigan State Police patrol vehicles will be provided for all driving exercises.
Dates: June 27 – July 1, 2022
Times: 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. or 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. Students should arrive promptly 15 minutes prior to class start time.

Tuition: $75
Dress Code: Appropriate attire for a professional experience. Baggy low ride jeans, flip flops or inappropriate T-shirts are unacceptable. Tennis shoes and fitted jeans are acceptable.
Prerequisite: (Mandatory for successful completion of program)
Must be a fully licensed GDL Level 2 driver between the ages of 16-19.
