Byron Lewis

Byron Gordon Lewis, Sr. age 79, of Lansing, MI passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2022.

Byron was born on October 10, 1942, in Ontario Canada to the late Lawrence and Peggy (Wassegijig) Lewis. He graduated from Sault High School and went on to earn his associate degree from Lansing Community College. He was a member of the Potawotomi Tribe and attended Mount Hope Church.

Byron enjoyed playing both bingo and hockey. He played hockey and baseball when he was young and continued to watch them throughout his life. He loved his family and took great pride in his home.

Byron is survived by his children: Brian Lewis of AZ, Byron Lewis, Jr., Glenda Lewis, and Roseanne Lewis all of WI, Reginald (Holli) Abel of Lansing, Tracy Lewis of CO, Nicholis Jacko of Ontario, and Miranda Jacko of Sault Sainte Marie, Ontario: his siblings: Richard (Stephanie) Lewis of Sault Ste. Marie, MI, Chester (Peggy) Lewis of OH, and Hilda Lewis of Sault Ste. Marie, MI; and a sister-in-law: Joannie Lewis of VI.  Byron is also survived by many grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.Byron is preceded in death by his parents, his wife: Barbara (Ray) Lewis, whom he married on December 1, 2000, in Lansing, Michigan, a daughter: Theresa Lewis: and a brother: Kenneth Lewis. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, April 16, 2022, at C.S. Mulder Funeral Home.
