Robert Hugh DeRusha, age 79, of St. Ignace, Michigan, died on April 8, 2022, in Petoskey, Michigan. He was born on February 8, 1943, in Detroit, Michigan, to Donald Robert “Peg” and Jane Eileen (McDonnell) DeRusha.
Bob grew up in St. Clair Shores, Michigan. After high school he attended Michigan State University. He eventually moved to the Eastern Upper Peninsula and settled in St. Ignace.
Bob was a member of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians.
Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing and boating. He like to be outdoor or driving in his truck.
Bob is survived by cousin, Robert McDonnell of Livonia, Michigan; sons, Danny DeRusha of Marine City, Michigan and Eric DeRusha of West Bloomfield, Michigan; grandchildren, Danielle and Lily; sisters, Beverly Moscatello of California and Barbara (Bob Livieratos) DeRusha of Florida.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Ory Moscatello; and many close cousins and family members.
A Celebration of Life will be held om April 21, 2021 at 12:00 PM at the Caffey Cemetery in Rexton, Michigan where Robert will be laid to rest.
