Michelle Rae Burtovoy

Michelle Rae Burtovoy, age 51, died at home in Petoskey, Michigan on May 9, 2022. She was born on August 27, 1970, in Lansing, Michigan to Larry Lee and Lorrie Rae (Binger) Burtovoy.

Michelle grew up in Lansing and attended Everette High School. Over the years she worked a couple factory jobs, housekeeping, and waitressed at Big Boy, Bob Evans, and Applebee’s, to support her and her daughter. She also worked at the Mystery Spot for Dan McArthur for a few years and she absolutely loved working there.

Michelle was baptized at Our Savior Lutheran Church.

Michelle had many activities she enjoyed like, binge watching crime and drama shows, going to the movie theater, animals, and spoiling her daughter and nieces. She was considerate and selfless to anyone who met her. She loved to shop for others and loved to make everyone around her happy. She is described as someone who has a “Heart of Gold.” She was an amazing and great person, even through her dark days. Her whole world revolved around her daughter and her two nieces. Nevaeh was her life and would have done anything for her. She was so proud of Neveah and considered her the one thing in life that she did right. She especially loved her family and animals.

Michelle is survived by her daughter, Nevaeh Wells of Petoskey; parents, Larry and Lorrie Burtovoy of Rexton, Michigan; brother, Larry (Angelina) Burtovoy of Boyne Falls, Michigan; nieces, Desarae and Nadejda Burtovoy; and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Michelle is preceded in death by her grandparents, Peggy and Paul Binger, and Doris and Jack Burtovoy.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2022, from 1:00 P.M. till 3:00 P.M. at Galer Dodson Funeral Home, in St. Ignace. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 P.M.

Burial will immediately follow at Caffey Cemetery in Rexton.
