“For everything there is a season and a time for every matter under heaven …”
Looking to the night sky, she would point out the stars. Looking to the heavens, she would reaffirm her faith in the Lord. She would impart knowledge about the birds on her feeders, perched in her trees, and delight her listeners with unknown tidbits about each. She would sow her garden, learning about each of her plants and brilliant flowers, all the while delighting in their amazing beauty. She would thank the Lord for His gifts. She would walk the sandy beach of oceans and her beloved Lake Superior and kayak in their calm waters. She would be in awe of the wonders of nature and she would thank the Lord.
She would take joy in her family, dote on her granddaughter Anna, relishing the tight hugs they shared, all the while feeling blessed for the special bond they had formed and the love that would live in Anna’s heart forever. She would enfold Abby in her loving arms and wonder about all that might be. She would thank the Lord. She would laugh with her wonderful daughters, Jenny and Becky, share her pearls of wisdom, impart her values, and pray for them daily. She would be strong when they needed to lean on her; she would model faithfulness so they would know hope; she would delight in all their accomplishments. She would be proud of all they had become. They were her legacy, her joy. She would thank the Lord for the gift of her girls.
She would be filled with gratitude for the gift of her sweet, strong husband Jerry. She would remember all their travels, their special moments of peace and joy, struggles and worries, and would remember that day long ago when they vowed to love each other. She would uphold her promise as his loving wife. She would thank the Lord for the life they shared and the family they built together and the bond they held sacred.
Patricia Marie Goehle Wilson passed from this earth May 22, 2022, a woman of faith, a lover of life, a lover of music, the first on the dance floor and last to leave, the woman with the large smile, the infectious giggle, the biggest heart, the tightest hugs, and the brilliant mind. She was the best corny joke teller. She was a memory keeper, a scrapbooker. She created birthday, wedding, graduation, sympathy cards for those she loved. She was a faithful wife, wonderful, nurturing mom, adoring mother-in-law, the best Mimi, the loyal and loving sister and sister-in-law, the kind aunt, the innovative, dedicated teacher, the student of life, and lover of books. She had an inquisitive mind, a quick wit, and an easy laugh. She was a loving cousin and loyal friend.
Pat was united in marriage to Jerry Wilson on June 14, 1980 at the Soo Locks. Pat and Jerry were blessed with two daughters; Jennifer (Matthew) Kabat of Rudyard, and Rebecca Wilson of Alaska and parts unknown. Her siblings are Spike (William) Goehle (Marilyn) of Pennsylvania, and Pam (John) Delany of Wisconsin. Pat was the grandmother of Anna Kabat and Abigail Kabat. She was predeceased in death by her parents, Spike and Lela Goehle.
Pat graduated from Sault High School and Central Michigan University. She was a member of the First Church of Christ where she previously taught Sunday school.
Patricia Goehle Wilson will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her, those who were honored to have been taught by her, and those who had the privilege of being a recipient of her lovingkindness, her hugs, her generosity, and her big heart. Those of us who were blessed to have known her, to love her, to have been loved by her, thank the Lord.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Ball Hospice House would be greatly appreciated.
