Frederick Wayne Forrest, age 86, of Brimley, MI passed away at his home on Sunday, July 24, 2022.
Freddie was born on October 22, 1935, in Gladys, MI, the son of the late Trefflie and Florence (Brabrant) Forrest. On August 30, 1979, Freddie married Helen S. Fisher in Sault Ste. Marie. He worked in construction and helped build the International Bridge, the Soo Locks, and many businesses around the Sault. Freddie enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, working in the woods, and cutting firewood. He was always outside doing something. Freddie was a practical joker who truly enjoyed life.
Freddie is survived by his wife: Helen Forrest; three children: Carol (Chris) Millward of Sault Ste. Marie, ONT, Steve (Sandy) Forrest of Logansport, IN, and Terri Forrest of Brimley, MI; grandchildren: Chris (Debbie) Millward, Laurie Millward, Sara (Ron) Gordon, Erica (Jason Sherlund) Balyeat, Jason Feighner, Jenni (Brennon) Feighner-Fultz, and Chris (Josie Roos) Forrest; and many great-grandchildren. He is also survived by three step-children: Cindy Plitz, Rick (Kamie) Mikolowski, and Jeff (Sue) Mikolowski; many step-grandchildren and great grandchildren; and a sister: Dorothy (Jack) Whaley of Goldsboro, NC; and many nieces and nephews.
Freddie was preceded in death by his parents, two granddaughters: Michelle and Patricia Millward; three sisters:Dolores Cartwright, Helen Watts, and Virginia Lemperle; and two step-sons: John and Kelvin Mikolowski.
According to Freddie’s wishes, a private family service has been held. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to the Brimley Lion’s Club-Sight First, 5631 S. Birch Point Loop, Brimley, MI 49715.
