Marion Jeanette Danielson

Marion Jeanette (Wilhelm) Danielson, age 68, died at Mackinac Straits Health System in St. Ignace, Michigan, on May 30, 2022. She was born in Pontiac, Michigan, on November 29, 1953, to Joseph Arthur and Margaret Josephine (Donohue) Wilhelm.

Marion grew up in Pontiac, and graduated from Pontiac Central High School. After graduating, she attended Oakland Community College. She married David Bryant Danielson in Pontiac on June 5, 1971, and they started a family. She moved to St. Ignace and began working at Mackinac County Courthouse, in Probate Court as a court reporter, for more than 40 years. She also worked for the District Court, finally retiring from the Prosecutor’s Office after 30 years.

Marion loved the outdoors, along with her family. She enjoyed hunting small game, fishing, picking wild berries, foraging for Morels, collecting butterflies, and spending time by a creek or at a beach with her children and grandchildren. She loved to feed and bird watch, gardening, and for many years, can fruits, vegetables, and delicious dill pickles. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She attended sporting events for all three of her boys and later, for her grandchildren. She could draw and paint beautifully, and enjoyed making crafts as well. She had an amazing sense of humor and always approached life with a smile and laughter.

Marion is survived by her sons, Eric (Marcie) Danielson of St. Ignace, Michael Danielson of St. Ignace, and David (Jennifer) Danielson of Clawson, Michigan; grandchildren, Bryant Danielson, Brennan (Haillee) Danielson, Jacob (Jake), Dylan, Mable, and James Danielson; sisters, Jody Kurlonko of Hessel, Michigan, and Elizabeth (Mike) Silta of Munising, Michigan; and brother-in-law, Dennis (Lana) Danielson of Moran, Michigan.

Marion is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Margaret Wilhelm; husband, David Danielson; sisters, Mary (Joe) Balog, and Katherine Wilhelm; and brothers-in-law, Douglas Danielson and Gordon Kurlonko.

Visitations will be held at Galer Dodson Funeral Home in St. Ignace, Michigan, on July 30, 2022, at 10:00 AM for family, 11:00 AM for guests, with a memorial service to follow at 12:00 PM.

Final Resting Place will be at Brevort Twp Cemetery in Brevort, Michigan.
