Shirley Jean Downey

Shirley Jean Downey, age 84, of St. Ignace, Michigan, died at Evergreen Living Center in St. Ignace, on July 4, 2022. She was born in St. Joseph, Michigan, on February 28, 1938, to Paul and Opal Lovegrove of Ozark, Michigan.

Shirley often spoke of her growing up on her parent’s farm and spending many hours helping her family. She worked for many years in St Ignace area and worked many jobs where she could interact with people.

Shirley enjoyed being outside in the sun and gardening and absolutely loved to read. She was very independent woman. She was loved by many and including her close personal friends Mark and Barb Boshaw, and Shirley Sorenson She will be dearly missed.

Shirley is survived by her son, Timothy Paul Johnson of Coloma, Michigan; and beloved relatives, James Clifford Johnson Jr., and Bobby Harold Johnson.

Shirley is preceded in death by her parents; and Daniel Lee Johnson
