Ronald Gerald Brown, age 74, of St. Ignace, Michigan, died at his home on August 10, 2022. He was born in St. Ignace on March 5, 1948, to Gerald and Alice (Belonga) Brown.
Ron was raised in St. Ignace and graduated from LaSalle High School in 1966. He married his high school sweetheart, Elsie Kathryn Lowetz, on March 12, 1966. They moved to Durand, Michigan, where he worked for the General Motors Company for a few years. They moved back to St. Ignace, after starting their family. He began working for the Michigan Department of Transportation for twenty-five years as an equipment operator and he retired in 2003.
Ron was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Moran, Michigan, the Sault Tribe in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association of America.
Ron loved hunting birds and deer, watching NASCAR, attending gun shows, building custom ’22 target rifles, target shooting, and all guns. He loved spending time with his beloved Camaro, and spending quality time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He had a great sense of humor with no filter.
Ron is survived by his daughters, Michelle (John) Lackey of South Carolina, and Stacy (Jeff Erskine) Brandt of Moran, Michigan; sons, Michael (Rhonda) Brown of Kincheloe, Michigan, and Christopher (Dawn) Brown of Moran; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren, with the 12th great-grandchild due on December 12, 2022; sister, Linda Goldsworth of Waterford, Michigan; and brother, Greg (Terry) Brown of Auburn Hills, Michigan.
Ron is preceded in death by his wife, Elise Kathryne; and parents, Gerald and Alice Brown.
Services will be announced at a later date.
Final resting place will be at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Moran, Michigan.
