William McKee

William “Bill” Charles McKee of Sault Ste Marie, passed away at his home Sunday August 28, 2022. Also known as Wild Bill by those who knew how to have a good time. Bill was born December 17, 1939 and was 82 years old.

Bill worked as a Materials Supervisor at Cloverland Electric Cooperative for 42 years.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years Cindy (Johnston) McKee, and his four children Chris (Kasey) McKee of Sault Ste. Marie, Cami (Tony) Hubbard of Sault Ste. Marie, Karly (Justin) McLean of Barbeau, and Katelyn McKee (Terry King) of Sault Ste. Marie, and his nephew Thomas McKee of Pittsburgh.  Bill had 11 grandchildren: Chris, Lindsey, Curtis, Sydney, Jocelynn, Lillian, Harper, Sawyer, MaKenna, Brooklyn, and Emery, and 2 great grandchildren: Sophie and Halen.

Bill had a sense of humor that was unmatched. He had an effortless way to make people laugh, from his music and guitar playing, The Laughing Song, his endless ‘costumes’ and antics, to his one liners. Bill knew how to have a good time and was his happiest by making others laugh. And he was so good at it.

Bill had a love for country music, guitar playing, singing, a passion for an outstanding and pristine yard, obsessive organization, and loved a cold beer. But mostly he had a love for his family. Although not a man of many words we all knew it.  Bill was a member of the Sons of the American Legion, The Moose Lodge, The Veterans of Foreign War (VFW), and the Orioles.

He is preceded in death by his parents Eunice (Atkins) Brooks and Karl McKee, his brothers Thomas and James McKee, sister Karen McKee, son WC McKee, daughter Corey Sue McKee, and close family Jack Brooks and Lyle Roe.

A memorial service will be held at CS Mulder Funeral Home, Thursday September 8, 2022. Visitation from 11:00a-2:00p with a service at 2:00. His celebration of life will follow at 4:00 pm at the VFW, Wild Bill style. Bring your stories and your instruments.
