A downstate woman has died in a snowmobile crash in Luce County.
The sheriff’s department says the accident happened on M-123 and the Charcoal Grade in McMillian Township at about 6:30 Tuesday night.
The 55-year-old woman from Chesterfield Township, MI was trying to cross M-123 to go south into Newberry, but she went into the path of a car driven by a 56-year-old Newberry woman.
The downstate woman was thrown off of her machine with that impact, and she was run over by a second vehicle, which was going southbound on M-123. She was pronounced dead at Helen Newberry Joy Hospital. The accident is still under investigation. The name of victim has not been released.
