On Wednesday, the Dafter Fire Department and the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a multi-car accident on M-28 near Soo LIne Rd.
When emergency vehicles arrived, they were met with white-out conditions and the road was blocked due to a 9-car pile up. Dafter requested mutual aid assistance from Sault Ste Marie Fire Department as well as multiple ambulance from Kinross EMS and Bay Mills EMS. In all, six persons were transported to MyMichigan Emergency Room for treatment.
Dafter Fire credited Chippewa County Central Dispatch with their professionalism in handling the communications.
