SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. – The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT, is investing about $1.1 million to resurface .36 miles of I-75 Business Spur (BS) (Ashmun Street) in the city of Sault Ste. Marie. The work will include asphalt milling and resurfacing, asphalt overlays, brick paver crosswalk removal, drainage structure repairs, concrete curb and gutter replacement, and pavement markings. Sidewalk ramps at intersecting streets will be updated to Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards. Some milling and resurfacing will be done at night.
The project is scheduled to begin April 24 and end somewhere around June 28, 2023. Daytime work will be performed utilizing lane closures and traffic regulators. Night work will require full closures and detours.
