In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, the MyMichigan Behavioral Health Center will host the annual Mental Health Mile Walk & 5K Run on Saturday, June 3, 2023. The run will begin at 1:30 p.m., and walk at 1:45 p.m., both on the campus of MyMichigan Medical Center Sault, 500 Osborn Boulevard, Sault St. Marie.

Strollers and friendly pets on leashes are welcome. Light refreshments for participants will be available following the race. Prizes will be awarded for a variety of categories.
“This is our ninth annual Mental Health Mile and 5K and we encourage community members of all ages to come out and support this event. The goal for this event is to raise awareness and support for individuals in the community who are living with a mental illness,” said Ashley Flickinger, CTRS at the MyMichigan Behavioral Health Center “This really is a fun, family-friendly event. In addition to the race, Grandpa’s Mini Donuts will be on site and we will have bounce house available thanks to Parkers Ace Hardware.”
The cost for the 5K Run is $25 before May 17; $30 after May 17. The Mile Walk is free. Registration be completed online at www.runsignup.com or on-site the day of the event beginning at 1 p.m.
