The Sault High Blue Devils JV Football team traveled to Maple City Glen Lake Thursday night for a non-conference game against the Lakers. The young team had a solid start to the game, holding the Lakers to just 12 points in the first half. Coach Hallai remarked, “We had such a good start. It hurt fumbling on the 1 yard line on our first drive. Honestly felt that if we scored there, we’d have a completely different outcome. Young team and mistakes just piled on after that. Just need to learn to focus on the next play, learn from our mistakes and not dwell on them.”
The score was 18-0 at the end of the third quarter, and the final score was 38-0 in favor of the Lakers. Hallai noted the efforts of a number of players. “(Marc) Dewildt and Sam Kiekhaefer had great games all around. Braden Ditmyer and Nick Causley played their heads out on defense.”
The Blue Devils (1-5) will host the Alpena Wildcats for their last home game of the season, and another Big North Conference match up.
