NEWBERRY, Mich. – The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is investing about $3 million to resurface nearly 9 miles of US-2 from Borgstrom Road to Hiawatha Trail in Mackinac County. The work includes surface sealing, crack sealing, asphalt milling and resurfacing, rumble strips, slope flattening, aggregate shoulders, guardrail repairs, and pavement markings.
Work will be performed during daytime hours only. One lane of alternating traffic will be maintained on US-2 using traffic regulators. An 11-foot lane width restriction will be in place during the project. The project is planned to start May 6 and b finished by September 26, 2024
