The Sault High Blue Devils Track and Field teams celebrated their successful seasons on Thursday night. The coaches raved about the athletes’ character, humility, work ethic, dedication and leadership displayed by the upper classmen. Athletes received JV or Varsity letters, as well as the perpetual special recognition awards. Boys’ Head Coach Jim Martin, Throwers’ Coach Brad Boven and Assistant Coach Mike Rand presented the boys awards. Track Co-MVPs were senior Rvyer Ryckeghem and sophomore Gabe Litzner. Field MVP was senior Rayce Rizzo. Most Improved Awards went to sophomore Caleb Klier for Track, and sophomore Isaac Niebuhr for Field. Co-Coaches Award went to Senior Talon Thomas-Holm and junior Johnny Osborn. Captains Award went to senior Evan Arbic, and the Horizon Award went to freshman Dean Roe.
Girls’ Head Coach Scott Menard, and Assistant Coaches Becky Arbic and Tony McLain handed out the girls’ awards. Track MVP, Outstanding Newcomer, and Most Points for the Season went to freshman Ahnaka Oshelski. Field Co-MVPs went to senior Katie Anderson and junior Annabelle Fazzari. Most Improved went to freshman Grace Mayer and junior Bella Smith. Wallis Determination Award went to junior Bella Smith and senior Abby Walther, and the McLain Coaches Award went to seniors Izzy DeWildt, Dayna Szabo, and Abby Walther.
