OSCODA COUNTY, MICH. A Michigan State Police (MSP) canine handler and his partner, assigned to the Alpena Post, recently assisted the Oscoda County Sheriff’s Department with tracking a subject believed to have fled the scene of a vehicle crash.
On May 27, Tpr. Charles Scruggs, and his canine partner, Waco, responded to the area of Abbe Road near Eming Road in Comins Township to help find the 38-year-old man deputies said was involved in a vehicle crash and fled from them on scene. After an approximately eight-minute track, the suspect was found hiding in the woods. He was taken into custody by members of the Oscoda County Sheriff’s Office.
